This has been my first blog post since October and I am sad that I have not been documenting (through my blog) the last 8 1/2 months of my now “mom stylist life.” It has been a journey and boy do I give all of the moms out there a lot of credit because being a mom is hard but so fulfilling. I have never been so in love, challenged, determined and overjoyed all at the same time. She is 8 1/2 months and has already taught me to be patient, live in the moment, love unconditionally and not to care that the house isn’t perfectly clean.

Mom life is nothing that I ever thought it would be; it is truly so much more. That is why I am taking some time off from styling clients so I can spend more time with my love bug. I will continue to work with my existing clients but will not be taking on any new clients or jobs at this time. I hope to start meeting with new clients the first of the year (2017). But be sure to check back in for posts about breastfeeding fashion in the next couple of days because breastfeeding momma’s have to look stylish too 🙂

I recently teamed up with Channel 15’s show “The List,” to talk about LED Fashion. For those that don’t know what LED is, it’s a light emitting diode that emits light when activated. Typically when you think of LED lights you may think of digital signs on buildings, the Light Bright toy you played with when you were a child or anything electronic but now when you think of LED lights you can think of fashion!

LED fashion

Katy Perry made LED fashionable with her Light Up dress at the 2010 Met Gala, she wore a Cute Circuit gown that featured bright colored rope lights. Then later on Cute Circuit made a gown for Nicole Scherzinger with 2000 LED lights inertwined with 3000 swarovski crystals and the LED lights actually showed live tweets from her fans during her concert!

LED Fashion

The young generation is taking over with their 2 favorite things, technology and fashion! Years ago this trend would have been considered weird but now this trend is a form of expression through fashion and it is becoming more popular as years go on. After entertainers broke through with LED fashion, everyday people jumped on the LED bandwagon by buying LED tshirts that can display messages and images from their smart phones. They are now even selling LED accessories to pair your look together with hats, jewelry, bow ties and even your shoes. Cute Circuit CEO Francessa Rosella told CNN that her latest dress changes color based on the movement of the person wearing it. So this will hopefully encourage more people to be more active!

Make sure to tune in this Tuesday, July 21st at 4:30 on Channel 15’s “The List,” to see the segment but if you don’t live in Arizona check your local listing on www.thelisttv.com. Special thanks to Clothes Minded Boutique in Phoenix, AZ for letting us shoot at their beautiful boutique, although they do not carry LED fashion, they carry amazing pieces at affordable prices.

It has been quite sometime since I have posted and that is because life has been pretty busy with styling my amazing clients and growing a human inside of me! Yes, I can say that I am officially pregnant and couldn’t be more thrilled! It is truly life changing and so amazing at the same time. This will be the first child my husband and I have (well I should count Pablo as my first child lol) so let’s say this is our first “human child.”

One night while I was trying to sleep, I was surfing through Pintrest and saw fun baby announcements. I know that I wanted to do something different so my husband and I took “baby announcement,” pictures by the lovely and talented Ashley Lorraine Photography. We then picked out our favorites and sent the announcements by snail mail to our loved ones. So one by one we were getting texts and phone calls from family and friends (most of them in shock but completely thrilled for us). In a way I still am in shock that I am pregnant, it is truly a wonderful feeling and I cannot wait to meet our little one and make our family complete.

A lot of my clients hire me to style them for weddings, formal business dinners and cocktail events, but most of the time when I go to their home, I notice that they just need to accessorize with the looks that they already have hanging in their closet. Below are some tips from the local lifestyle show Your Life A to Z featuring Kendra Scott at the Scottsdale Quarter to help you ladies out there with your cocktail attire look!

This weekend in Arizona it was cloudy and a bit chilly outside, so that meant it was time to get out my thick layers (for Arizona that is) because as the day goes on, I take my layers off because it starts getting hot. So I make sure to over accessorize because in this look my statement piece is my leather vest (it’s the stylist in me).

Hello all of my fashion friends. If you follow my site on a regular basis you would know that this is my first “fashion look post,” since October 20th. It has been a busy past couple of months with new styling clients, my brother-in-laws 30th birthday in Oregon, Thanksgiving, my god-daughter’s 2nd annual Holiday band concert (she plays the flute) and hosting our first Christmas Eve dinner at our house with our family.

What an amazing year it has been and I thank you all for being there for the ride with me and following/supporting me and my blog. I don’t typically make New Year’s resolutions but I thought I would just make a promise to myself to blog at least once a week. It is a wonderful outlet and I love spreading the word on fashion tips and tricks that are easy to do in your home that I have learned on my own, from pintrest or from my clients.

If you live in Arizona you know how cold it has been the past couple of weeks, so this was the perfect outfit to wear yesterday in the cold! It was super comfy (I changed my booties to some black ballet flats). BCBG is running a sale in stores right now where almost everything in the store is 30% off original price and the sale rack is an additional discount as well. I believe the sale is only through today: January 4th, so call before you go!

If you know me, you know that I like to be comfortable on Sundays because those are the days that I like to run all of my errands (and not wear heels) because I typically wear heels or wedges Monday-Saturday. I don’t know what it is about heels that make me feel more “put-together,” don’t you think…..(it may just be me). My dress and booties are recently from one of my fav stores……TARGET! This cotton dress is comfortable and flowy and can transition from summer into fall with just a couple of pieces (ex. shoes, layering vest or jacket and a scarf). I also love the neckline of this dress because it makes it girly and more dressy, rather than just a boat-neckline.

I saw this tunic on the sales rack and I couldn’t resist…so I paired it with one of my favorite thick leather belts to give it a more tailored look. In the fall I would add a navy blue or coral boyfriend blazer to make it pop with a bit of flair! This piece can easily transition between seasons!

Picking out a swimsuit should be a fun process but for most it’s not. A lot of my clients have been asking me to pull swimsuits for them during their shopping appointments. I’ve noticed that when they walk into the fitting room and see the swimsuits hanging they are instantly unsure and hesitant to try on. I assure them that I know it will look great on them and just to try it on……..and “POOF” they fall in love. It’s all about knowing what looks good on your body! Below is a little guide to help you find the perfect swimsuit for your body type this summer!

Petite and Short
personal stylist az
This swimsuit is perfect for the petite body type because the cut of the top and bottom elongates the torso making someone who has a short torso look long and lean. This top also has a small amount of padding to help form the suit to your chest (this top compliments women with a small chest). I also feel that this color scheme is perfect for any color skin tone.

Curvy
personal stylist
Sweetheart cut is probably my favorite cut in tops, dresses and of course swimsuits! This look can help minimize large chests while it helps support with the halter around the neck. Usually I say “no” with stripes on swimsuits but this style looks great and really helps shape your body because of the print on the sides of the swimsuit!

Curvy (Another Style)
f3b45f8a52624d7393383e9a1a08f447
If you want more of a sexy look I recommend going black, nude or red. This suit camouflages larger chests and shows off your beautiful curves!

Tummy Issues
personal stylist
For those that have tummy issues help is on it’a way. This sleek, black nylon suit is perfect to hide those problem areas as well as exsentuate your beautiful curvy body. Also, when looking for a swimsuit that hides your tummy look for spandex/nylon because that material with help support your body.

Larger Thighs
ten-pounds-slimmer-swimsuit
Black will NEVER go out of style; that is why I always have at least one black swimsuit in almost every style. This low v-neck is sexy and sophisticated and can be worn at any age. This style is also very flattering to larger thighs because it minimizes

Athletic Body Type

Another style that is fun and flirty and gives you curves (that you may not already have) is this amazing colorful one piece with a little bit of flair. This swimsuit is perfect for someone that does not have any curves because once you try it on, it automatically gives you the hourglass shape with the peplum near the hip line!

So I hope this helps you on the first day of summer picking the swimsuit that looks and feels amazing!
