So excited to announce that I am now a SeneGence Distributor (better known as the company that sells “LipSense”). SeneGence is a privately owned, network marketing company that is in the business of developing and selling personal care products through an independent sales network (aka ME). If you can believe it, in 1999 Lipsense made it’s first debut and was their premier product (only coming in 6 colors) and now SeneGence has a complete line of long lasting cosmetic colors (eye shadows, foundation, blush, mascara) and anti-aging skin care products (face creams, eye creams, self tanners, stretch mark reducers).

For me it all started with one tube of LipSense (Praline Rose to be exact). I saw all the hype on social media about this long wear, long lasting product that was smudge free, water proof, kiss proof, cruelty free and vegan, so of course I had to try it out and once I tried it I was completely hooked. This lipstick truly lasted a good 9 hours for me and all I had to do was apply the gloss to keep my lips moisturized throughout the day!

How It Works:

LipSense is not a stain; it is a patented molecular bond, meaning it sticks to your skin and that is why you have to have clean and dry lips so that the pigment can “stick” to your lips.

SD40 alcohol is the delivery system for LipSense. It’s much thinner than water. After you apply LipSense, the SD40 alcohol dissipates quickly, only leaving the color in place. It also keeps the product bacteria-free for the life of the tube which is unlike any other lipstick.

Typically, the first couple times you apply LipSense you may experience burning or tingling and that means your lips are dehydrated; the skin is damaged, leaving nerve endings exposed… So heal those lips and exfoliate as much as possible and apply the gloss, even when your not wearing the LipSense color!!!

The patent is in the color, it would stay on without the gloss, but the gloss is the moisture. There is no moisture value in the color, it’s system that works together. LipSense lipcolor is a mechanical shield from the sun (like wearing clothes on your lips).

How To Use:

Apply 3 coats to clean, dry lips. You can use the tip of the applicator in the tube to get the perfect “lined lip” first before filling in the rest of your lips. Your lips may tingle and they will be sticky, so don’t press them together until you apply the gloss, which is your lip moisturizer. LipSense will last on your lips anywhere from 4-18 hours (depending on the PH of your body), but the average wearing time is 6-8 hours. Make sure to apply LipSense Gloss throughout the day, as your lips will tell you when they need more moisture. One tube of LipSense will last 4-6 months on average if you use it every day.

Below are the Lipsense colors SeneGence carries. I have almost all of these colors in stock, feel free to email me your order, or send me a selfie in natural lighting and I am happy to color match you with your perfect color. If you haven’t purchased Lipsense before I always recommend purchasing the Starter Kit (includes 1 color, 1 gloss and 1 remover). Below is also a breakdown of all of the glosses SeneGence carries. Then I can ship it right to your door within 24 hours of your email! Make sure to email me at info@rochelleyork.com.

It’s the job that every young girl wants and dreams of…money, fame, fashion, clothes; being made up everyday. If you haven’t guessed it already…..its the world of modeling.

20130201-201006.jpg
This past Thursday I attended the Chasing Beauty documentary. It gave a deeper look into the “ugly side of being pretty.” This documentary will premiere on VH1 in Spring 2013 but we were able to see the special screening early with Phoenix Fashion Week.

The models throughout the documentary were truly like you and me, each and everyone of them had insecurities, struggles and faced everyday challenges. One beautiful model said in her interview that she hated her chin and thought she looked like a horse. She was also told that she needed to get her chin “fixed.” I was truly astonished when I heard this, she was simply perfection in my eyes. (Shown below)

Behind the covers of Vogue and other high fashion magazines lie the rarely talked about stories….anorexia, depression and racked up debt. Those words probably wouldn’t come to your mind when you think of models and the high fashion world but this documentary dug deep into this world and uncovered the very unflattering part of being a model.

Each year thousands of young women arrive in Los Angeles with excitement and the dream of becoming a model and leave Los Angeles feeling ugly and unwanted by any agency.

In the end I thought this documentary was very interesting (and sad) looking through the eyes of a model. I give them so much credit for having such tough skin and dealing with daily struggles.

I watched the Inauguration for two reasons. 1. To see the President being sworn in (of course) and 2. To see what the Obama ladies were wearing!

20130123-182940.jpg

I loved Michelle Obama’s navy blue dress by Thom Browne. I thought it was a perfect fit for the Inauguration. Malia and Sasha looked amazing in plum purple and fuchsia pink; these colors pictured perfectly and I would highly recommend these colors on tan skin and dark colored hair.

Thom Browne, Kate Spade and J. Crew….how could you go wrong with amazing and affordable brands? These tailored coats are simply amazing and I want all 3 of them! I love that Michelle Obama’s coat looks like it has a belt added to it but that actually is sown into the coat. This coat also looks amazing with her new sassy bob hair cut.

This was probably my favorite look from the Inauguration Day. I love love love these beautiful fuchsia pink gloves. This is a perfect statement piece that compliments her entire outfit and in my opinion completes it. She inspired me to go find some gloves just like this! Thanks Michelle 🙂

Last but certainly not least, we have the beautiful Michelle Obama in a gorgeous red gown by Jason Wu. She also wore Wu in the first inauguration among various other events and I can see why!!! STUNNING!!!!!!!!

Style on ladies!

Behind every woman is their purse; something that is carried every single day and holds everything and anything from their lunch for the day to a camera and today I wanted to share with you whats in my bag!

20121230-222931.jpg
I am sure the first item you see is my bag of pistachios; I am always on the go and I like to snack and my favorite snack is pistachios! Next is my Michael Kors Turquoise Leather wallet that I have had for almost 2 years now and it still looks great! I love that the wallet zips all around so nothing falls out mistakingly. The inside lining of the MK wallet is foiled gold and it holds up to 12 cards. My Sony Cyber Shot is probably my favorite item in my bag! I never leave without my camera because you never know when you might need to capture a fun moment! My parents got my husband and I this camera for a wedding present because we went to Kauai and they wanted us to bring back amazing pictures! Which we did! Below is one of our pictures on our honeymoon!

20121230-224145.jpg

Next item on the list is my Victoria Secret Gorgeous body spray that I love! One of my girlfriends got it for me as a gift set for my birthday last year and ever since then I have been obsessed! It is a fruity clean scent that only takes one spray to smell and feel refreshed! My Clinique matte compact is my must have because I have extremely oily skin and I feel that this brand helps with my shininess! I usually apply this compact twice, sometimes three times a day and it doesn’t looked caked on which is nice. Underneath my compact is an index card of motivation quotes that my mom gave me! I would say that I truly have the Best Mom Ever!!!! Whenever I am having a tough day I pull out my index card and usually instantly feel better because everything is put into perspective (I HIGHLY recommend doing this for yourself, I would also laminate your index card so it doesn’t get ruined).

Networking is a big part of my life and job and I never leave home without my business cards because you never know who you might run into and who might need a personal stylist! 🙂 I am also a journalist at heart and always have to have a pen handy in case I think of any ideas while I am on the go (I know that I have an IPhone and I can take notes on that but it’s just not the same lol).

My favorite mascara is by Loreal and its called Voluminous, this mascara instantly thickens my eye lashes and gives them the oomph they need to look good! As for my lips during the work week I usually just wear the gloss shown: Mac Lip Glass in Oyster Girl by itself but on the weekends I like to kick it up a notch and add a bright lipstick underneath the gloss!

Last but not least I always have Kleenex because I am a big sneezer and hold the record in the Tondreau household for sneezing 12 times in a row 😉 When I was a kid I used to sneeze and then just wipe my nose on my shoulder of my shirt…..but now that I am a grown up I thought I should use Kleenex instead of my shirt.

I would love to hear about what unique items you carry in your purse! Let me know! Please make sure to follow me on Facebook!! Rochelle York Personal Stylist!

I am not the biggest make-up person in the world….which is funny because I love make-up…I just don’t know how to put it on; until now! Below are some of my must haves for December because all of these items are “Rochelle Proof,” meaning that I can’t mess anything up with these products lol

20121220-185421.jpg

I just started wearing foundation a couple of months ago because I wanted more of a flawless, finished look to my face but the problem with using foundation is that it can sometimes look caky. So I recently purchased 4 different foundation brushed at Ulta and out of the 4 brushes I fell in love with the Real Technique Expert Face Brush. This brush is specifically for blending of cream/moisturizer and liquid foundation. It is a firm brush for broad application over your face; so it will take about 4 brush strokes to cover your whole face. The maker of Real Techniques has awesome step by step tutorials for using her brushes; so I would definitely check that out! www.realtechniques.com

My next favorite must have is the Tarte Smooth Operator Concealer that is waterproof! I tend to have dark circles and this is the best concealer that I have used in a really long time because it is waterproof; so that means that I don’t have to apply more than once a day from day to evening look. I recommend going at least 2 shades lighter than your skin to give you a more refreshed look!

20121220-191022.jpg

My last must have for December is the 24 Hour Color Tattoo from Maybelline in Painted Purple. This is such a fun color for night or day; you can apply the shadow with your finger over the eyelid and poof! you are done! This product comes in over 15 different colors. Anywhere from golds to greens….perfect for New Years!

Over the past couple of months I have been working on a stylist video for my website; on my “About Me,” page. I thought it would be fun to have the camera’s peek into my fun world of fashion; a lot of the shots were staged but showed what I do with my clients and talks about how I got into the fashion world over 10 years ago.

I am so lucky to do what I absolutely love; this was really fun to shoot! I will be working on some “How To” editorials after the holidays that talk about easy ways to revamp your wardrobe! So please stay tuned for my latest videos on my blog or check out my website www.rochelleyork.com

Every morning when I wake up, I wash my face and put on moisturizer, which I thought was the right thing to do and then I put my make-up on and by noon it looked like I didn’t have anything on my face.

So I decided to go to the MAC counter at Scottsdale Fashion Square to figure out what was going on and low and behold I found out that I needed a prep+primer before I applied my make-up. Some of you reading this might think that I am a dork and I should have known this already but I didn’t 🙂 So I went home very excited to try my new purchase and I did a little experiment. I put my moisturizer on, my new primer and then make-up and 6 hours later, after I did a short work-out, put together some outfits for my blog and made dinner….drum roll please……………my make-up still looked freshly applied and untouched!!!!

I highly recommend going out and buying the MAC Prep+Prime and when you do purchase this magnificent item let me know what you think!

Prime on ladies! <3
