Working out is not on my list of fun things to do….but since I have been pregnant I have been trying to be as healthy as possible and that starts with working out at least 3 times a week (which is A LOT for me). I am a very busy lady with a lot of projects going on at any given time so I thought it would be best for me to workout at home. YouTube has become my best friend since I have been preggers because I have found great workout routines so I don’t get bored with the same workouts every day. Below is 2 of my favorite routines from Jessica Smith TV, which consists of a low impact cardio workout and a total body strength workout and boy do I feel good after the workout. I will definitely try to keep working out as a regular routine but we will see how long that lasts after she is here 🙂

Summer is officially here (in my eyes because it is soooo hot outside) and when it’s hot my “go to,” is flowy dresses because I don’t feel restricted or uncomfortable with the summer heat. I also like that I can transition this dress into fall by adding a cropped jean jacket or fitted black blazer. This dress is from the new maternity line Liz Langer at Target. I read about this collaboration a couple months ago and couldn’t wait to see her collection in stores. I love her maternity pieces because it doesn’t look like typical maternity clothes and it’s affordable which is also a plus in my eyes.

I also feel that I can wear a lot of her dresses after pregnancy because then it turns into a “boho sleek look,” (if you know me or have worked with me before, you know that I always think ahead on how much wear I will get out of the pieces I buy even if the price point is low because there is no shame is planning and saving money :)).

This May I had the honor of working with the new Robbins Brothers Engagement Ring Store in Scottsdale. Robbins Brothers is an engagement and wedding ring company with stores located in Southern California, Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas, Seattle Washington and now Scottsdale Arizona. The company specializes in engagement ring settings and loose diamonds, it carries an extensive selection of wedding bands, promise rings, anniversary bands, three-stone rings, earrings, pendants and bracelets. Onsite jewelers are available to set diamonds, create custom-settings and perform service and maintenance checks, which is nice because after you buy an expensive piece of jewelry you want to make sure that you can keep it in mint condition and get it checked on a regular basis with no fuss.

On May 14th all of the Arizona fashion socialites were there to show their support for the new Scottsdale jewelry store and for the charity, “Future for Kids,” which is a non-profit organization that helps children who face adversity excel through camps that focus on academics, athletics and ethics. I co-hosted and styled the event with beautiful models frosted in Robbins Brothers jewels and wearing dresses from (one of my favorite stores) BCBG. During the night there were amazing giveaways, yummy food and classical music that tied the entire evening together.

I love to wear dresses while I am pregnant because it is the easiest to wear and is the most comfortable, yet professional. I also like that I can easily transition from the work week (which is pictured) to the weekend by switching bags, heels to ballet flats and a long simple necklace with a top knot hair style.

I have never been a huge fan of horizontal stripes but sometimes it depends on the outfit itself and the tailoring of the overall look like makes me swoon. I have noticed during my pregnancy shopping that there is an insane amount of stripes out there anywhere from shorts, skirts, tops, dresses, jackets and even swimsuits. I am trying to only have the bare minimum of stripes in my closet so here is one of the few stripe looks I have that I LOVE!

When I first started showing my baby bump I was excited to start looking for maternity wear because there has always been a negative outlook on pregnancy wear and I was ready to break that outlook. But let me just say that it was a hard process because even the maternity stores I tried shopping at had mostly “moo-moo’s.” Asos has a maternity line online that I truly fell in love with and I am sure you will too because you don’t feel like you are wearing maternity clothes because they are hip and in style.

We also started getting her room ready and our crib finally came in and we fell in love with it! It is so much fun decorating and finding pieces for her room. Everything is coming together so well and I can’t believe in 4 short months she will be here with us!

When I first found out I was pregnant I had all of these exciting plans: to blog about my pregnancy and what I was feeling every week, to take as many pictures as possible to share with all of you and to show you preggo mama’s where to shop and still look fashionable while pregnant. Well I am almost 20 weeks in and I haven’t posted anything. I have starting writing a journal for our little one on what I have been feeling every week and what I have been craving but haven’t posted anything on my site 🙁 So I am making a promise with all of my followers and clients, that I will start posting more especially about fashion for mama’s to be. Thank you for all of your support and sweet emails I have been receiving the past 3 months, and the main question I have been asked is “where do I shop now that I’m pregnant?”

Well my new favorite stores are surprisingly online, Asos Maternity is my new “go to” and is about 60% of my maternity gear. I work full time and when my clients see me I am probably in stilettos and a dress and I promise that won’t change (well wearing dresses that is). I have been told by other pregnant mama’s to be that are further along than I am, that I should kiss my heels goodbye when I hit about 8 months and to be perfectly honest I am totally ok with that. I am kind of excited to be (forced by baby lol) to wear ballet flats and more wedges, I am sure my feet and legs will thank me. So over the past 5 months I have been pampering myself and getting lots of pedi’s and reading a lot about what’s to come during our pregnancy.

This was my first official gift from our little one (bought by daddy), I got a Pandora bracelet years ago for my birthday and since then I have been collecting charms for special occasions given to me by my loved ones and this year’s charms were extra special.

Pablo definitely knows somethings growing in my belly, he just doesn’t know what but I can tell he loves it already because he seems to be guarding my belly a lot more than he ever has before 🙂

Next couple posts over the next 2 weeks will be focusing on pregnancy fashion so stay tuned.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

It has been quite sometime since I have posted and that is because life has been pretty busy with styling my amazing clients and growing a human inside of me! Yes, I can say that I am officially pregnant and couldn’t be more thrilled! It is truly life changing and so amazing at the same time. This will be the first child my husband and I have (well I should count Pablo as my first child lol) so let’s say this is our first “human child.”

One night while I was trying to sleep, I was surfing through Pintrest and saw fun baby announcements. I know that I wanted to do something different so my husband and I took “baby announcement,” pictures by the lovely and talented Ashley Lorraine Photography. We then picked out our favorites and sent the announcements by snail mail to our loved ones. So one by one we were getting texts and phone calls from family and friends (most of them in shock but completely thrilled for us). In a way I still am in shock that I am pregnant, it is truly a wonderful feeling and I cannot wait to meet our little one and make our family complete.

Style On Ladies and Gents!

A lot of my clients hire me to style them for weddings, formal business dinners and cocktail events, but most of the time when I go to their home, I notice that they just need to accessorize with the looks that they already have hanging in their closet. Below are some tips from the local lifestyle show Your Life A to Z featuring Kendra Scott at the Scottsdale Quarter to help you ladies out there with your cocktail attire look!

This weekend in Arizona it was cloudy and a bit chilly outside, so that meant it was time to get out my thick layers (for Arizona that is) because as the day goes on, I take my layers off because it starts getting hot. So I make sure to over accessorize because in this look my statement piece is my leather vest (it’s the stylist in me).

I am sure that you have a favorite pair of heels (or boots) you go to every Monday morning when you want to be comfortable. Or you bought a really expensive pair of leather shoes and don’t want to buy another pair right? Well if you could believe it that is what I used to do because I never really tried leather polish or taking them somewhere to get cleaned, I just simply threw them away (which is horrible I know and I will NEVER do it again unless there is a hole in my shoe lol).

I found the Kiwi shoe polish (in the color brown) at Target for $3.79. It was the best 4 bucks I EVER spent. Call me a dork I know! I cannot believe I have never used this product before and now that I think of it my dad used to polish his Red Wings when I was a kid and I used to think that it smelled like burnt rubber.
