I am always looking for new finds and ways to shop for my clients and for myself; whether it’s finding a new online shop or shopping off of pinterest. Higgle is a new way to do just that…SHOP! This online shopping experience is a cross between Priceline and Pinterest, it allows shoppers to name their price on products and share those offers with friends and other “Higgle” members and anyone can join with just an email.

It’s very easy to maneuver and find what you are looking for specifically, with just a click of a mouse. I am a huge online shopper because being a personal stylist means being out and about shopping at the mall, farmers markets, expo’s and sometimes I prefer to shop in the comfort of my own home (and in my p.j.’s). Below is what the site looks like when you sign on….in the top left corner is an explore button; there you will find different categories to search for ( active lifestyle, fashion, home and even the everyday guy). You are sure to find something that is perfect for you or as a gift for someone special!

Higgle

How it works: What’s cool is that you as the buyer can name your own price, then you share what you want to buy along with the price for others to see and want as well. You as the buyer can utilize your own social influence to get better prices on products anywhere from lamps to a quilted leather messenger bag.

So when you put an offer(s) in on the site and share that offer(s) with others, that is called a “Higgle.” You can follow people and categories to find amazing and fun products! I am a fashion shopper of course, so I had to follow the fashion and jewelry categories and when I log into Higgle, those categories/items are in my newsfeed so I don’t miss anything new. Below are some of my fav finds on Higgle:

P.S. I just noticed a re-occurring theme with all of my favorite finds…..I think I like gold a little too much 🙂

So make sure to check out and sign up on this cool new shopping site and name your price at www.higgle.com and make sure to follow me so we can “higgle,” together!

When it comes to birthday dinners, engagement parties, weddings, baby showers, graduation parties, reunions and even going to the grocery store. I always have it all mapped out, on exactly what I am going to wear. I know that may sound weird to many of you but as soon as I get an e-vite, my very first thought is, “what I am going to buy that person” and then I think of what I am going to wear. To this day, I still wish I was Cher on Clueless and had all of my outfits on my computer to scroll through so I don’t have to destroy my closet looking for the perfect look!

Then some of you are the complete opposite and wait until the very last-minute possible to go shopping (which is not a bad thing; you just have to know where to look). So I thought I would spill the beans and tell you about the best places to shop last-minute!

One of my favorite places to shop is Dillard’s; it truly is a one stop shop for everything! Your outfit, shoes, jewelry and makeup…all under one roof. One of my favorite collections is from Antonio Melani, in the women’s department (not juniors). Their looks are sexy and sophisticated and hug your body in all of the right places!

The dress above is one of my favorite Antonio Melani dresses, I wear this dress to work and can also pair it with a coral blazer to give it a different look! The dress below is also from the same collection and it is truly one of my favorites! The material feels like a swimsuit (very stretchy and smooth), I love the vibrant color and I also paired it with a gold belt to break up my body (to make me look taller because I have a small torso). This picture was taken on Good Morning Arizona, when I was interviewed for the MIM Rocks Fashion Show in March 2013!

Another favorite is Target! When I am on the go and just need to pick up my essentials; I always stop in the clothing section just to see if anything stands out (and something always does).

For instance, this picture is a behind the scenes,” look from a photo-shoot this past weekend. When I booked the photo-shoot, I was wondering what I was going to wear and this denim romper from Target came to mind because it was light weight and comfortable to wear. I felt like I didn’t have to accessorize too much with this look because the ruffle at the top gave it a little twist! I believe that this romper is still at Target, so buy it before they all sell out! 🙂

Another quick “get in get out,” place to shop is Francesca’s. This is another location where you can buy your entire look without having to go into a different store for accessories or headbands. Their sale racks are my favorite place to shop because the sales are a steal and I sometimes buy a lot more because I know I’m saving so much money (that’s what I try to tell myself)!

I always find very random things there and while I am buying my outfit; I usually find great presents for friends and family. The picture above is one of my favorite dresses because it is so comfortable and never wrinkles in my suitcase when I travel!

Hope this blog helped you “last-minute” shoppers out there!

This Saturday I had the pleasure of working with Allie Olson, owner of Allie Ollie Boutique and designer of the Ensemble line. The funny story behind this, is after she asked me to style her show through email; I looked her up on facebook and realized that we went to broadcasting summer camp together over 11 years ago. I even have proof! Below is a picture we took during summer camp at a Phoenix Suns game and the picture underneath is us at a Phoenix Fashion Week Meet Up event a couple of weeks ago! Boy have times changed….and I lost my cheeks! 🙂

This fashion show not only was fun but went to a great cause! By bringing in pieces of clothing for the Sojourner Center (that provides temporary homes as well as programs that teach self-sufficiency, empowerment, and family skills, which helps women from domestic violence rebuild their lives and re-enter society) you received 50% off your purchase at Allie Ollie.

The pieces in the ENSEMBLE line are all about redefining mix and match style; they are designed for versatility and fun (as always) for women of all ages. All pieces are machine washable, made in the USA, and are great for either career or travel dressing because everything is wrinkle free.

All of the hang tags for the line were shot in the heart of Arizona, outside in the beautiful desert.

Couldn’t have done it without my amazing style team! Thank you so much ladies for making everything backstage calm, cool and collective! Special thanks to Audree and Janae that helped me style!

5Stylists

During the last couple of weeks I have had the honor of working with Phoenix Fashion Week on the MIM Rocks Fashion Show. Phoenix Fashion Week chose the top 5 stylists (shown above) in Arizona and gave us the challenge of styling 14 models, choosing the music, make-up and hair to go with our Spring theme.

From Left to Right…

-Returning for his 3rd year with MIM Rocks Fashion….stylist Brian Swan with Right Hand Man Image Consulting has 9+ years of experience in the fashion industry, consulting clients and styling numerous photo shoots and runway shows. Most recently, Brian has relocated to Las Vegas to style for Zappos.com!

-Local stylist-extraordinaire Fawn Cheng, Personal Stylist has been a personal stylist for years, here in the valley! Last year she brought a Hispanic flair + drama to the runway with Alma Primero Coleccion and I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve this year!

-A world citizen, Yekatherina Bruner’s global travels have shaped her culturally-diverse approach to fashion. In addition to her love for style, Yekatherina has a wide experience as a fashion show producer. Yekatherina has recently been named as a Glamour Magazine “Glambassador ” for 2013.

– Amir’s La Voûte has an amazing look in men’s wear, at Amir’s they specialize and carry fine men’s clothing from elegant vintage collection, men’s accessories, unusual collectibles, oddities, and all types of gifts for men! Like Bow Ties? Be ready to see what is on trend for men this Spring!

This has been such a fun and amazing experience overall and I wanted to share my journey so far with all of you! To get started I met with owner Kim Kendall with Clothes Minded in Phoenix. Her boutique has a wide variety of local designer collections that I will be using in the show! Kim and I went over prints and colors that would coordinate well with the idea I was shooting for in my head.

Have an amazing Saturday night and Style on Ladies!

This evening I decided to do a little shopping therapy, to get through the rest of my work week and what better way to get in the shopping spirit you ask? Well….scoping out a new boutique in Phoenix of course!

Clothes Minded is a fun and chic clothing boutique that recently opened in February! The unique part about this boutique is that it houses local designers collections that have worked with Phoenix Fashion Week…like Shawl Dawls and JHaus Denim. I had the pleasure of meeting with boutique owner Kim Kendall and learning more about her love for fashion and retail! What is also unique about her boutique is that she wants her customers to be able to learn more about the local designers that have collections in her store; so she features a local designer the 3rd Thursday of every month with a mini fashion/trunk show.

Spring is fast approaching and Clothes Minded is ready, with lots of pastels, floral and maxi dresses gallore…I was truly in “Spring Heaven.” While I was looking through her pieces I came across a beautiful nude top that I just had to have…This top can work for day and night! I will be posting a blog video this weekend on my pick of the week! Stay Tuned on fun ways to wear this top!

I feel like I talk about Forever 21 in almost every blog that I write but I just LOVE the deals I find and I have to share! Yesterday my mom and I did our Saturday tradition of going to the mall and this time around I found sweet deals that I couldn’t even believe I found!

I want to start this blog by talking about my Chocolate Brown Boots (shown below)! I only paid $7.80 for these shoes and I couldn’t be happier! I am wearing them as I am writing this entry and I am a bit distracted while writing because I can’t believe how cute they are….especially for the price! I bought these boots at the Chandler Fashion Mall location. As I said in my video above; I feel that the Chandler Fashion Mall location has a better selection of sale items than any other location in the valley! I would highly recommend going into that location today to go buy these amazing boots!

Hope you enjoy the rest of the blog video!

Happy Sunday!

It is filled with great gifts for any age; any where from Hello Kitty lip gloss to ice cream sandwich throw pillows for your couch! Kitty is a one stop shop if you are looking for a unique gift for someone or just want to buy something fun for yourself! The owner is great; he even let us shoot in his beautiful store…pictures will be out very soon….
