It’s insane to think that 2013 is officially over; what a wonderful and blessed year it has been. My personal stylist business has grown in so many ways and I am lucky to have such amazing clients by my side. It has been so rewarding helping my clients and see their inner style shine. I am so blessed to be able to do what I love and bring happiness to the people that I work with <3

new years

This New Year’s Eve my husband and I kept it pretty low and went to one of our favorite restaurants, “Nook Kitchen.” It was a Gatsby themed party (hence the attire) we had great company and amazing food! Happy New Year 2014!!!! Can’t wait to see what this year has in store 🙂

Nutcracker-171
To start off this holiday season my girlfriends and I went to the Nutcracker at the Phoenix Symphony. As I got to my seat I loved seeing all of the women in the audience dressed to the nine in their elegant winter wear. I kept it simple with a French Connection wrap dress (2 years old) and knee high black boots. I wanted to add some of my favorite scenes from the ballet….surprisingly the rats were probably my favorite (yes I know I am weird but they were hilarious).

My next event was at my client’s holiday party at the beautiful JW Marriott Desert Ridge . This was a work party so I wanted to keep it professional and not too flashy 🙂 This dress was given to me by one of my girlfriends; she got it from Dillards. I paired this dress with black tights, Gianni Bini boots and a statement piece necklace from White House Black Market (similar). My beautiful mom was my date for the night and she looked stunning in red <3

This was our second year attending the Go Daddy Holiday party and again it was a HUGE success! Not only did we get to eat amazing food but we got to see Kei$ha and Snoop Dog live! The party was held at Chase Field so that means that I had to dress extra warm. I wore a gold tight fitting dress (borrowed from my girlfriend) with a tailored black blazer from Marciano, blackout tights and black satin stilettos from Steve Madden (3 years old). Mat (my husband) looked handsome in his black and white suit and tie (minus the jacket) for a more casual look. Pablo (our dog) also got a little cameo in the picture above 🙂

I am very excited to introduce my new “Guest Fashion Blogger” Catherine Gochoco! We met through Phoenix Fashion Week and I absolutely love her! Catherine has a personal style blog that showcases her street style as well as dressing up or down different items for different occasions. She describes her style as classic yet trendy. Catherine likes to stay close to whats hot on the fashion scene, while giving it her personal touch! Through the next couple months you will see blogs highlighting Catherine’s trends and finds. Enjoy!

I love the winter weather but keeping warm is a constant battle. I’m a desert girl and growing up we rarely had any winters that would require more than a light jacket. I’ve become a huge fan of winter white and think it adds such a stark contrast to the darker colors that are associated with the cooler months. Lately the 90’s have brought on so many street style looks and as a huge 90’s fan, I was in. I dressed up my over sized, grunge inspired plaid shirt with some faux leather pants and Voila! Outfit nirvana. This white trench spoke to me, it is so fresh compared to the black coats I usually wear. The coat brings out the more subtle colors in my shirt and ultimately brightens up the whole outfit. I’ve worn this ensemble on two different occasions; lunch meeting and dinner in the city. Both times I was comfortable, warm but mostly I looked great with very minimal effort. Great day to night outfit.

Christmas_Party

Depending on what type of Christmas Party you have been invited to; the last thing you want to put on your shopping list is a party dress. At the same time you don’t want to look and feel bland and boring. So I want to help you find items in your closet that can be transitioned into a great party look!

1. Simple Black Dress. Every woman has a black dress in her closet (and if you don’t have one, you need to get one). I would pair this dress with bold accessories and even try something new with your makeup and wear a dark lip (reds and plums are perfect for the season)

2. Dress Up Dress Slacks. It’s easy to dress up items in your closet that you already have like dress slacks. I would pair it with a fun and vibrant top that is a statement piece within itself so you don’t have to worry about accessorizing. I would also pair with a sexy stilleto and a fun and flirty hairstyle like the picture shown below.

3. Skinny Jeans. For those of you that were invited to holiday parties that are a little more low key, I would recommend pulling out your skinnies! Dark denim skinny jeans can truly be dressy, you just have to know what to pair them with. I always recommend dark skinny jeans because they picture well and go with just about any color (especially black).

4. Grab A Blazer. When in doubt grab a blazer! Blazers are my, “GO TO” when I want to dress an outfit up. I would pair a blazer with just about anything: dresses, jeans, shorts, over-alls anything that can truly be layered.

It’s that time of year again……BLACK FRIDAY! For those of you that partake in this fun and busy shopping day I wanted to share a few pointers that have helped me get through this crazy day!

black_friday

1. Sleep!
Make sure you get enough sleep the night prior because your day is going to be full of walking and shopping

2. Be Comfy!
Wear your most comfortable shopping outfit and make sure to wear your tennis or ballet flats because by the end of your shopping day your feet with thank you

3. Know Where Your Going!
It is very important to plan accordingly; make sure to know where you want to shop, so you can plan a “play by play” on what stores have the best deals and where you need to park to get there (if you go to the mall)

4. Have A List!
It is always good to make a list of items you need to get for everyone on your holiday list and make sure to always ask the stores for gift boxes and tissue (because most of them give it to you for free)

5. Always Ask For A Gift Receipt!
It is very important to always ask for a gift receipt (even though you are probably the best gift giver ever; your friend or loved one might want to exchange their present for a different size or color and that will make it easier for them to do so)

6. Go With Someone!
I always recommend to shop with a friend or loved one on Black Friday because you always need a voice of reason to tell you “yes” or tell you “no,” it is also nice to have someone stand in line with you when you are waiting to purchase your presents

7. Site Deals!
If you don’t feel like fighting the crowd this Friday then make sure to take full advantage of the Black Friday Site Deals! Click here for various site deals (anywhere from Overstock.com to Macy’s, it’s all here at your fingertips)

8. Have Fun!
Last but not least make sure to have fun this Friday and make the best of it. I hope these tips and tricks help you this holiday season and remember when in doubt on gift giving this holiday…purchase a personal stylist gift card and I will take them shopping for a new and improved wardrobe! 🙂

Happy Sunday and Style On Ladies and Gents!

It’s officially fall in Arizona (meaning that it hit 75 degrees) so I pulled out all of my sweaters, pants and fall colors and went to Kendra Scott to find fall statement jewels that can transition from work to play. I’m excited to be teaming up with the Kendra Scott boutique at the Scottsdale Quarter on various events and parties at their location this next year!

Kendra_Scott_David_Heiser.jpeg.728x520_q85

Kendra Scott started her business in 2002 with just $500 to launch a mini-jewelry collection. Today, Kendra Scott Jewelry is a global, multimillion-dollar brand sold at renowned retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and 1,000+ specialty boutiques worldwide. I love what Scott stands for: Family, Fashion and Philanthropy. She says that the most important thing in her life is her family and nothing is greater! Her pieces are truly timeless and can transition from day to evening. As a personal stylist I am always trying to look for pieces that can flow throughout one’s day because not everyone has time to bring accessories along with a change of clothes for happy hour after work or dinner. I decided to go with the Harlow necklace because this piece is a statement within itself and is really the only piece of jewelry I need to look complete!
