When it comes to birthday dinners, engagement parties, weddings, baby showers, graduation parties, reunions and even going to the grocery store. I always have it all mapped out, on exactly what I am going to wear. I know that may sound weird to many of you but as soon as I get an e-vite, my very first thought is, “what I am going to buy that person” and then I think of what I am going to wear. To this day, I still wish I was Cher on Clueless and had all of my outfits on my computer to scroll through so I don’t have to destroy my closet looking for the perfect look!

Then some of you are the complete opposite and wait until the very last-minute possible to go shopping (which is not a bad thing; you just have to know where to look). So I thought I would spill the beans and tell you about the best places to shop last-minute!

One of my favorite places to shop is Dillard’s; it truly is a one stop shop for everything! Your outfit, shoes, jewelry and makeup…all under one roof. One of my favorite collections is from Antonio Melani, in the women’s department (not juniors). Their looks are sexy and sophisticated and hug your body in all of the right places!

The dress above is one of my favorite Antonio Melani dresses, I wear this dress to work and can also pair it with a coral blazer to give it a different look! The dress below is also from the same collection and it is truly one of my favorites! The material feels like a swimsuit (very stretchy and smooth), I love the vibrant color and I also paired it with a gold belt to break up my body (to make me look taller because I have a small torso). This picture was taken on Good Morning Arizona, when I was interviewed for the MIM Rocks Fashion Show in March 2013!

Another favorite is Target! When I am on the go and just need to pick up my essentials; I always stop in the clothing section just to see if anything stands out (and something always does).

For instance, this picture is a behind the scenes,” look from a photo-shoot this past weekend. When I booked the photo-shoot, I was wondering what I was going to wear and this denim romper from Target came to mind because it was light weight and comfortable to wear. I felt like I didn’t have to accessorize too much with this look because the ruffle at the top gave it a little twist! I believe that this romper is still at Target, so buy it before they all sell out! 🙂

Another quick “get in get out,” place to shop is Francesca’s. This is another location where you can buy your entire look without having to go into a different store for accessories or headbands. Their sale racks are my favorite place to shop because the sales are a steal and I sometimes buy a lot more because I know I’m saving so much money (that’s what I try to tell myself)!

I always find very random things there and while I am buying my outfit; I usually find great presents for friends and family. The picture above is one of my favorite dresses because it is so comfortable and never wrinkles in my suitcase when I travel!

Hope this blog helped you “last-minute” shoppers out there!

About a week ago I decided to put together a Guest-Blogger Contest for fashion divas out there and after reading the amazing blog entries I received over the past couple of days from all over (thank you everyone for participating); I was finally able to narrow them down!

Congrats to Christine Battaglia with Work My Wardrobe!. As a personal stylist I am always looking for fun and unique ways to change my wardrobe that I already have. Since I do not sew or am crafty in any way, shape or form 😉 I thought that Christine could fill in that area that I lack! 🙂 So look out for some of her entries on my blog!

The best part of being a personal stylist is seeing your client glow, when they walk out of the dressing room in a new look (that they wouldn’t usually pick for themself). I had to share these pictures because I had so much fun with a new client last week!

photo

This client was looking for new work wear looks as; well as casual weekend looks! We shopped at various stores in Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and had so much fun doing it. If you are looking for a unique gift for the person that has everything, a personal shopper is the way to go! Some of my clients like to come to the mall and try the items on and some like me to purchase the clothing and take it to their home; it truly all depends on the clients needs! 🙂

Happy Friday and Style On Ladies and Gentlemen!

Over the weekend I was reading various fashion blogs from around the world; written by men and women of all ages. It was fun to see the different styles from various age groups. I like to think that I have a wide variety of style from fun and girly to business casual and then to bohemian sheek…. but then what about the other styles out there?! So I thought it would be a great idea to have a Fashion-Guest Blogger on Ro’s Style Blog.

So please email me at info@rochelleyork.com and send me your topic ideas for the blog along with a picture of yourself! I will be picking the Fashion-Guest Blogger on Saturday, June 22!

Can’t wait to hear from all of you!

This past Friday I attended Phoenix Fashion Week’s, “Emerging Designers Announcement,” at the Toni and Guy Academy in Scottsdale. The moment I walked in I could feel the excitement and energy bouncing off every person in the room and was greeted by Brian Hill himself (the Executive Director of Phoenix Fashion Week)…which is always an honor!

Before the announcement, I was able to chat with other stylists and fashion bloggers about the 12 new designers chosen for Phoenix Fashion Week! (Pictures shown below)

For those of you that don’t know, Phoenix Fashion Week’s mission is to bridge the gap between national and international designers and premier retailers; their ultimate goal is to garner global exposure for Arizona’s fashion industry. Through educational fashion seminars, year-round fashion events, and charitable partnerships, Phoenix Fashion Week has gaining rapid acclaim for its community-service efforts and for infusing world-class innovation into the Southwest. I am lucky enough to be able to work with this AMAZING organization!

Every year Phoenix Fashion Week travels to different cities around the United States to find upcoming designers. During this time they have an application process and then from there, hand-pick 12 designers to enter the competition/boot camp. During this boot camp they learn the skills of being a business owner, marketer, designer, accountant and cheerleader for their business.

Drum roll please………….. Below are the 12 Emerging Designer Looks 2013

A little over a month ago it actually “sunk in,” that my 10 year reunion is a couple of months away. It’s shocking to believe because I feel like I just graduated college a couple of years ago (but in actuality it was in 2006….yikes!). 10 years ago I thought I would be single, successful and surrounded by my amazing family and friends……only thing different from what I thought; is that I am married to the man of my ultimate dreams! 🙂 I wanted to write this blog because a lot of people are probably wondering what they should wear to their reunion! Our reunion is at a hotel, so I will probably go a little dressier than casual. Before I get started I had to share some of my high school pictures!

Below are some fun ideas for your high school reunion! 🙂

Had to post this picture because when I think of high school reunion’s I think of Romie and Michelle! (Probably not a look I would recommend but I love this movie).

This plum purple one shoulder dress is perfect for the curvy woman! The roughing is a great camouflage around the tummy and covers in all the right places.

photo 54
This simple royal blue cotton dress is great for a casual reunion for almost any body type.

photo 55
This little black dress pairs up perfectly with a colorful boyfriend blazer in coral, red or even fuchsia.

photo 99
I think every woman should own a dress in this cut and color. This chiffon green dress is a great fit for almost every shape.

photo1 1
Another fun print and a fun color combo that I love! This dress can be paired with nude shoes and gold accessories!

photo3 4
More on the sexy side; is this sweetheart cut tube dress that is very form-fitting to the body. I recommend wearing nude shoes with this look and staying very minimal on the accessories.

photo 44
This last look is a simple, black v-neck dress that I absolutely love! This dress can be layered in lots of jewels to make it stand out and I would also pair this dress with nude shoes! <3

It officially hit 112 degrees yesterday in Arizona; so I thought today would be a great day to talk about swimsuit looks for the summer (since us Arizonan’s will either be inside in the air condition or in the pool).

Pool-Pictures

Some of my clients ask me if they find a swimsuit they love…if they can wear it for seasons to come. I tell them that swimsuits are a lot like clothes; if it’s in season, “wear it” but if it’s not in season, “toss it.”

photo 2

Let’s start with the mismatched bathing suit! This look is great for women with small torso’s that want to look like they have an elongated torso. The color combo is a great way to do that!

photo 3

Black and sleek is the best way to describe this suit! I love the mesh on the shoulders and how it shows off her curves! This is like a little black dress…every women should own a black suit.

Retro-One-Piece-Bathing-Suits-for-Women

I love this pin-up suit look and the color is a perfect match! This summer you will see a lot of yellow in different shades/ombre effect.

photo 6

This last swimsuit I just bought from Nordstrom and I love it! I have always wanted to own a nude suit because I can accent it with gold sandals and a gold hat. Or if you don’t like gold you can choose a bright and vivid color, like turquoise or fuchsia.

Have an amazing weekend ladies!

This Saturday I had the pleasure of working with Allie Olson, owner of Allie Ollie Boutique and designer of the Ensemble line. The funny story behind this, is after she asked me to style her show through email; I looked her up on facebook and realized that we went to broadcasting summer camp together over 11 years ago. I even have proof! Below is a picture we took during summer camp at a Phoenix Suns game and the picture underneath is us at a Phoenix Fashion Week Meet Up event a couple of weeks ago! Boy have times changed….and I lost my cheeks! 🙂

photo5

This fashion show not only was fun but went to a great cause! By bringing in pieces of clothing for the Sojourner Center (that provides temporary homes as well as programs that teach self-sufficiency, empowerment, and family skills, which helps women from domestic violence rebuild their lives and re-enter society) you received 50% off your purchase at Allie Ollie.

photo 2

The pieces in the ENSEMBLE line are all about redefining mix and match style; they are designed for versatility and fun (as always) for women of all ages. All pieces are machine washable, made in the USA, and are great for either career or travel dressing because everything is wrinkle free.

All of the hang tags for the line were shot in the heart of Arizona, outside in the beautiful desert.

Couldn’t have done it without my amazing style team! Thank you so much ladies for making everything backstage calm, cool and collective! Special thanks to Audree and Janae that helped me style!

During this beautiful Memorial Day weekend while most of you were bbqing and laying by the pool; I stayed indoors and caught up on some overdue cleaning, reading and took care of my husband (that recently broke his arm playing basketball). He is in a temporary cast (shown below)…and yes he looks like the bionic man :). So while he was resting; I decided to do some experimenting…since my husband usually takes my blog pictures I had to think outside of the box of a blog topic.

photo

So while reading, I stumbled across an article on “DIY” face masks…so I decided to give it a shot! All you need is at least 6 strawberries and 2 tablespoons of honey. Toss the 6 strawberries in a blender until the fruit is mashed; then combine with 2 tablespoons of honey and apply to face for 10 minutes and “POOF,” you have a hydrated and exfoliated face :). The acids in the strawberries exfoliate and the honey hydrates your skin and I also noticed that it leaves your face feeling very smooth.

photo

If you try out the mask at home, let me know what you think!

Happy Monday and style on!
