I Love What I Do! <3

I had the privilege of working with a women that just graduated from Arizona State University, that is a complete doll to work with! Fun In The Sun!

Well, summer is officially here!!! It hit 100 degrees last week and today I am laying out by the pool and enjoying this beautiful Arizona weather while writing to all of you!

So in honor of the summer weather I wanted to show you a casual, fun summer look that can be worn on the weekend day drinking or at a bbq.

I love dressing up but sometimes it’s nice to be comfy and casual when it’s hot. But don’t forget to stay extremely colorful this summer because you will see lots of color out there in magazines, fashion blogs and watching House Wives of Orange County of course lol! 🙂

Massage Envy Fashion Show Breakdown

Field of colors, lace, crystals and tall models galore; that pretty much summed up my Friday night at JW Marriot Desert Ridge for the Massage Envy Fashion Show! This show was a grand production and I had an amazing time styling this show! Thanks to Phoenix Fashion Week for letting me style such a fun and colorful event!

For this show I was inspired by Massage Envy’s location color/theme…..PURPLE!!! So I wanted the color pallet to flow around the rich purple they use to trademark their name. (Shown Below)

All of the models in this picture are wearing looks from Dillards. The Saturday before the show I spent close to 3 hours in the Scottsdale Fashion Square location, pulling looks because there was sooo much to choose from (which is never a bad thing). What really stood out to me was the flowy dresses and tailored jackets and for the men I was drawn to board shorts and rolled up skinny’s for summer!

I also wanted to give a special “shout out” to the amazing style team that helped me backstage with a flawless show! I look forward to working with all of you again! 🙂

LOL! I had to add this picture because I love standing next to these beautiful models because I am half of their size…literally!

Work to Weekend Wear With a Peplum Flair!

Spring is now quickly turning into summer weather and I wanted to check out the stores to see if I could find any transition pieces for my wardrobe. I recently went on a mini shopping spree at Tempe Market Place this past weekend and I found a crisp, white peplum rayon top at Divaz Boutique. This top inspired me to do a blog post on Work to Weekend Wear Looks!

Backstage at Green Street Realty Fashion Show!

It was the perfect temperature and weather for a rooftop fashion show in Phoenix. With over 250 guests supporting the Phoenix Children’s Hospital; everyone was dressed to impress including the amazing models.

I have never styled a fashion show on a rooftop before and now I don’t want to have it any other way because of how beautiful it was….but if you would ask me in the middle of July I would probably be perfectly fine with an indoor venue 🙂

I love this picture above because I am literally half the size of these beautiful bombshells I am styling <3. Backstage all of the models are wearing Shawl Dawls; I blogged about this designer back in January because I fell in love with their collection because there are so many ways to wear their shawls. I also had so much fun styling for Vintage By Misty! I have blogged about her boutique before when I bought my amazing Chanel Nugget Earrings (Shown Below)

Misty’s fun and unique location is in the heart of downtown Phoenix. If you are looking for a Louis Vuitton clutch to a sequin cap-sleeve jacket Vintage By Misty is your place! There you will also find Amir’s Va Loute!

I had the pleasure of working with him for MIM Rocks Fashion. His looks are very clean-cut and unique. I love his color pallets that he pairs with his prints and designs. What’s really cool about Amir is that he creates all of his designs in-house.

When I first started writing this blog post, I just wanted to talk about backstage but as you are reading…..it has turned into a lot more! I absolutely LOVE my job and LOVE what I do and LOVE who I worked with on this show and wanted to give everyone a little shout out! 🙂

JHaus Denim was really fun to style because I pretty much wanted every single item she designed; so it made it extremely easy to visualize what I wanted my outcome to be! JLynn (the designer) is amazing to work with and has such a kind heart! I was also lucky enough to be able to pull some fun tops from Clothes Minded Boutique! (Shown Below).

Last but not least I loved this look from Bounty Hunter! Who says only women can roll up their pants, guys are now doing it too! I also tell all of my male clients to always match your belt with your shoes and this is a perfect example! I loved the color of this belt and actually saw the belt first and paired the entire outfit around it 🙂

I also wanted to give a special “Shout Out” to Dillards Accessory Department because they supplied me with all of the accessories in the Green Street Realty Show!

Behind The Scenes (MIM Rocks Fashion)

What an amazing March it has been! I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the “Top Stylist in Arizona,” for Phoenix Fashion Week’s MIM Rocks Fashion Show that was on March 29th; along with some amazing stylists throughout the valley. I styled along side; Brian Swan, Fawn Cheng, Yeka Bruner and Amir Saebi. (Shown Below)

During the month of March, I have been eating and breathing MIM Rocks Fashion and I absolutely loved every minute of it! The “theme” of this show was everything Spring and how you can bring the looks from the runway to your closet. So, I immediately thought of floral prints with a lot of color, draped with colorful jewels.

I had the honor of working with Clothes Minded Boutique owner Kim Kendall on all of the looks chosen for the show. Her store is filled with lots of color and looks for all occasions. If you haven’t been in her boutique yet……you must! If you are looking for a casual day time look to a dressy going out look for night…this is your store! I also love the fact that she houses various Phoenix Fashion Week Designers collections in her location. So make sure to help out your local economy and check out her boutique and tell her I sent you! 🙂

I also had the pleasure of working with JHaus and Dillard’s on pulling looks and accessories from their collections. All of the denim in the show was from JHaus and all of the jewelry was from Dillard’s at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. (Most from the Jessica Simpson Collection)

This is where it all began (picture shown above). After I picked all of my looks; I had to choose what look to put on what model according to their skin tone and body type. I was lucky enough to have the most amazing 7 models on my team! Thanks again ladies! xoxoxo

I was very excited to be on Good Morning Arizona on 3tv, the day of the show to promote! I was interviewed by the lovely and talented Stella Inger and we discussed Spring fashion the do’s and dont’s!

This was a great picture to snap before the show began! Thank you again Phoenix Fashion Week for an amazing experience that I will never forget and a special shout out to designer JHaus and Dillards Accessories for letting me borrow such amazing pieces for the show!

1 Top 3 Looks.

Did a little shopping this week and over the weekend and wanted to show you some of my clothing and accessory finds! I went shopping at a couple of boutiques, Tempe Marketplace and JcPenny! Yes, it’s a pretty wide variety of places; but if something sparks my eye…I have to get it and if it is a great deal…then I have to get 2 (one for me and one for a friend).

I have been asked by some readers to show one piece of clothing turned into multiple looks. So I decided to show you a recent purchase of a nude top that I spoke about in my past blog from Clothes Minded Boutique in Phoenix. I love this top because it looks extremely expensive looking but not expensive in cost; this beautiful top was $39 and I am going to show you different ways to wear this top for day and night!

I love this look because it can work during the day with leopard flats and casual black leggings and then be transformed for night wear with black stiletto heels and chunky gold jewelry.

I am always looking for fun ways to dress for work because there are only so many suits and dresses I can wear to the office before I get bored! My new nude top inspired me to put together this work look today! I paired it with a bright green pencil skirt that gives the outfit the “POP” it needs to stand out! Another color that would look great with this top is plum purple, turquoise and even a bright mandarin orange color! I also paired this look with a motorcycle jacket to add a fun layering piece; you can even add a fitted black blazer or a cropped denim jacket with this look!

Styling Journey With Phoenix Fashion Week!

During the last couple of weeks I have had the honor of working with Phoenix Fashion Week on the MIM Rocks Fashion Show. Phoenix Fashion Week chose the top 5 stylists (shown above) in Arizona and gave us the challenge of styling 14 models, choosing the music, make-up and hair to go with our Spring theme.

From Left to Right…

-Returning for his 3rd year with MIM Rocks Fashion….stylist Brian Swan with Right Hand Man Image Consulting has 9+ years of experience in the fashion industry, consulting clients and styling numerous photo shoots and runway shows. Most recently, Brian has relocated to Las Vegas to style for Zappos.com!

-Local stylist-extraordinaire Fawn Cheng, Personal Stylist has been a personal stylist for years, here in the valley! Last year she brought a Hispanic flair + drama to the runway with Alma Primero Coleccion and I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve this year!

-A world citizen, Yekatherina Bruner’s global travels have shaped her culturally-diverse approach to fashion. In addition to her love for style, Yekatherina has a wide experience as a fashion show producer. Yekatherina has recently been named as a Glamour Magazine “Glambassador ” for 2013.

– Amir’s La Voûte has an amazing look in men’s wear, at Amir’s they specialize and carry fine men’s clothing from elegant vintage collection, men’s accessories, unusual collectibles, oddities, and all types of gifts for men! Like Bow Ties? Be ready to see what is on trend for men this Spring!

This has been such a fun and amazing experience overall and I wanted to share my journey so far with all of you! To get started I met with owner Kim Kendall with Clothes Minded in Phoenix. Her boutique has a wide variety of local designer collections that I will be using in the show! Kim and I went over prints and colors that would coordinate well with the idea I was shooting for in my head.

This past Wednesday I was interviewed by Lauren Pfingstag, with Phoenix Fashion Week for the show, I was asked about the collection, what my inspirations were behind my looks and what to expect on the runway! Above, is the outfit I wore for the interview and below is where I bought my pieces from!

Teaming Up With Phoenix Fashion Week!

March Madness is in full effect! During the first week of March I celebrated my 2 Year Wedding Anniversary to the man of my dreams in Maui and as soon as I got back, I was asked by Phoenix Fashion Week to be a part of their “MIM Rocks Fashion Show,” featuring Top Stylists in Arizona. I am so very honored to be apart of such a prestigious and amazing 4th annual fashion show!

Phoenix Fashion Week’s mission is to bridge talented, well established and emerging fashion designers to buyers from around the globe! Phoenix Fashion Week was established in 2005 by a team of Arizona based industry professionals. They are also the fastest growing metropolitan area in the United States.

What’s truly exciting to me is that I have been going to events put on by Phoenix Fashion Week for over 2 years now and to now be working with them is truly a honor. :)….sorry I am starting to get a little corny!

Phoenix Fashion Week teamed me up with Clothes Minded Boutique for the fashion show and I am so very excited to work with them! I cannot wait to meet with owner Kim Kendall and pull all of the looks for the show March 29th!
