BCBG from Head to Toe!

Hello all of my fashion friends. If you follow my site on a regular basis you would know that this is my first “fashion look post,” since October 20th. It has been a busy past couple of months with new styling clients, my brother-in-laws 30th birthday in Oregon, Thanksgiving, my god-daughter’s 2nd annual Holiday band concert (she plays the flute) and hosting our first Christmas Eve dinner at our house with our family.

What an amazing year it has been and I thank you all for being there for the ride with me and following/supporting me and my blog. I don’t typically make New Year’s resolutions but I thought I would just make a promise to myself to blog at least once a week. It is a wonderful outlet and I love spreading the word on fashion tips and tricks that are easy to do in your home that I have learned on my own, from pintrest or from my clients.

If you live in Arizona you know how cold it has been the past couple of weeks, so this was the perfect outfit to wear yesterday in the cold! It was super comfy (I changed my booties to some black ballet flats). BCBG is running a sale in stores right now where almost everything in the store is 30% off original price and the sale rack is an additional discount as well. I believe the sale is only through today: January 4th, so call before you go!

Sunday Florals

If you know me, you know that I like to be comfortable on Sundays because those are the days that I like to run all of my errands (and not wear heels) because I typically wear heels or wedges Monday-Saturday. I don’t know what it is about heels that make me feel more “put-together,” don’t you think…..(it may just be me). My dress and booties are recently from one of my fav stores……TARGET! This cotton dress is comfortable and flowy and can transition from summer into fall with just a couple of pieces (ex. shoes, layering vest or jacket and a scarf). I also love the neckline of this dress because it makes it girly and more dressy, rather than just a boat-neckline.

Blue Stripe Dress

I saw this tunic on the sales rack and I couldn’t resist…so I paired it with one of my favorite thick leather belts to give it a more tailored look. In the fall I would add a navy blue or coral boyfriend blazer to make it pop with a bit of flair! This piece can easily transition between seasons!

Styled Photo-shoot Winner!

In April Morgan McLane with Morgan McLane Photography and myself had a Styled Photo-shoot Giveaway.

Our winner that was chosen is truly amazing; her name is Melanie Van Klaveren and she is a Beachbody Coach. Morgan and I went to her house to talk about what she was looking for in her photo-shoot and we learned so much about our amazing winner! I truly believe that everything happens for a reason because we completely hit it off and had a fun time going through her closet and deciding where we wanted to shoot! Melanie has an amazing personality and is beautiful inside and out and we were very excited to help her with her brand as a Beachbody Coach as well as her website! I pulled looks out of her own closet and paired them with accessories and shoes. You don’t always have to go shopping for new and improved looks….it sometimes just takes another set of eyes to look in your closet and pull great pieces that compliment your body type and color.

We shot under the beautiful Arizona sun on a sunny Sunday morning; we choose this location because it is beautiful and colorful as you can see below. We also had a camera crew (my husband) follow us on the shoot because I LOVE behind the scene looks. We had a blast and I cannot wait to do a giveaway like this again with Morgan McLane!

Dress it up or dress it down…no matter what you choose to do you can always do it with a romper! I decided to dress it up for the evening for my girlfriends birthday party. I added statement shoes with a structured purse and chunky jewels to make it my own look and finishing it up with fuchsia lips!

Behind The Scenes (Spring into Fashion)

This year I was paired up with Clothes Minded Boutique in Phoenix. We both worked together last year for MIM Rocks Fashion, so I was excited to be teamed up with Kim Kendall again. The pieces in her store are versatile for any look you are going for…dressy, casual or just the in-between. This spring is all about neutral and casual tones; so I decided to focus on simplicity meets effortless beauty and that is what shined on the runway this year at Phoenix Fashion Week’s Spring into Fashion show in downtown Phoenix. Below are a couple of interviews from the show by Phoenix Fashion Week and Valley Hype.

This was my first time getting a blow out at Park Avenue Blow Dry and Nail Bar and I loved the result! My hair actually stayed in place till the next day! 🙂 I felt like a movie star getting my curls pinned so of course I HAD to take a picture of it<3

All of the jewelry featured in my show were from Kendra Scott at Scottsdale Quarter. I love her pieces because they can transition from day to night or a casual evening to a night out on the town. I own close to 10 pieces and I find new ways to pair them together everyday and you will see that from the looks on the runway.

I also teamed up with Block and Battaglia, the owner Christine is a full time real estate agent who when she’s not selling homes or running Block & Battaglia, spends her time focusing on her 2 great loves… her boyfriend and their son. Each Block & Battaglia bag is handmade by Christine, and all bags are one of a kind pieces. I have a clutch with Camelback Mountain on the front and I LOVE it (one because I am a native here in Arizona and two because it is just amazing!)

Black Friday Tips and Tricks!

It’s that time of year again……BLACK FRIDAY! For those of you that partake in this fun and busy shopping day I wanted to share a few pointers that have helped me get through this crazy day!

1. Sleep!
Make sure you get enough sleep the night prior because your day is going to be full of walking and shopping

2. Be Comfy!
Wear your most comfortable shopping outfit and make sure to wear your tennis or ballet flats because by the end of your shopping day your feet with thank you

3. Know Where Your Going!
It is very important to plan accordingly; make sure to know where you want to shop, so you can plan a “play by play” on what stores have the best deals and where you need to park to get there (if you go to the mall)

4. Have A List!
It is always good to make a list of items you need to get for everyone on your holiday list and make sure to always ask the stores for gift boxes and tissue (because most of them give it to you for free)

5. Always Ask For A Gift Receipt!
It is very important to always ask for a gift receipt (even though you are probably the best gift giver ever; your friend or loved one might want to exchange their present for a different size or color and that will make it easier for them to do so)

6. Go With Someone!
I always recommend to shop with a friend or loved one on Black Friday because you always need a voice of reason to tell you “yes” or tell you “no,” it is also nice to have someone stand in line with you when you are waiting to purchase your presents

7. Site Deals!
If you don’t feel like fighting the crowd this Friday then make sure to take full advantage of the Black Friday Site Deals! Click here for various site deals (anywhere from Overstock.com to Macy’s, it’s all here at your fingertips)

8. Have Fun!
Last but not least make sure to have fun this Friday and make the best of it. I hope these tips and tricks help you this holiday season and remember when in doubt on gift giving this holiday…purchase a personal stylist gift card and I will take them shopping for a new and improved wardrobe! 🙂
