We are ALL guilty of it… buying a present on your lunch break, looking through old pictures of the both of you to frame; maybe even trying to find something to get for your mom or dad at the grocery store? Well I think I have all of your bases covered below.

Remember one important thing when shopping for your loved one……”them” (meaning what they would like, or their style and expertise in a certain topic or hobby). Below are items that I recommend for every Valentine on your list.

For your dad: nothing says “I love you,” more than a round of golf or going to the shooting range, just the both of you 🙂

golf

For your mom: every Valentine’s day I get my mom a gift certificate to get a pedicure and jewelry of some sort. My favorite place to pull pieces for my mom (and myself) is Francesca’s.

pedicure

For your friends: even though it is not a typical thing to do, getting a friend a present is a sweet treat especially if they have a sweet tooth. I like to make my girlfriends cupcakes or brownies (depending on their favorites).

baking

For your boy toy: my husband and I don’t typically buy presents for each other but we like to go out to dinner and exchange handmade cards. For those of you not like my hubby and I… I recommend getting him something that he would like to do with you, like a couples massage, or a picnic in your backyard with all of his favorite snacks. If you want to get fancy; take him to the mall and pick out an outfit for him because he may return the favor and get you an outfit too 🙂 wink wink!

If clothes aren’t his forte I would try and think outside the box and maybe get him something that he collects like comic books, or Ghostbusters gear (my husband is obsessed with Ghostbusters).  For the man that has everything I recommend getting him a gift card at The Art of Shaving– it’s like a man’s facial but for his beard!

Hope this helped all of you last minute shoppers out there!

This past week I was in Fort Myers, Florida for a conference and boy was it beautiful, this picture below is a view from my room. Every morning when I woke up the first thing I did was open my windows because I couldn’t believe my view! It was so amazing that it inspired me to put together an outfit that reminded me of the beautiful water.

I showed this outfit being worn in 2 ways because not everyone likes the same look. First way is a more layered look with lots of accessories and the second look is a bit more minimal. I always like to show different ways to accessorize and layer.

As some of you may know I am a jewelry hoarder! I still have pieces from high school that I wear. I have a bit of everything in every color and style because I never know when I might need it. I am the type that buys an outfit and looks for the perfect statement piece that will tie the entire outfit together. So I decided to choose 3 totally different jewelry pieces (gold, multi-colored and last but not least a bold necklace) all with the same outfit, to show you different ideas when choosing necklaces/jewelry when shopping!

This multi-colored necklace is one of my all time favorites from Divaz Boutique. These colors act as a neutral and go with just about anything and any color (plums, corals, tans and white). This necklace is also a great layering piece with thin gold necklaces as well as long beaded necklaces.

I received this necklace from 2 of my best friends and I wear this necklace almost every day. This turquoise long beaded necklace is close to 2 years old but I have seen necklaces like it at Francesca’s. I love pairing turquoise with corals and royal blues because the color really pops!

Gold is classic and crisp. This fun find is from my friends shop Royal Bowtique. This is another piece that can go with just about anything. This is a necklace that I like to wear to work with very simple earrings because I feel the necklace is a statement within itself.
